Suggested Procedure for the Shelby Amateur Radio Club Nets

** =  notes - do not read notes **

**The SARC Net meets every Monday and every Friday on 146.880 at 8:30 pm. This is a suggested procedure for conducting the SARC VHF traffic nets:

CQ CQ CQ  This is the Shelby Amateur Radio Club's VHF emergency net. Your net control station for tonight is (Your Call). My name is (Your Name) and My QTH is (Your QTH).

The net's purpose is to be prepared in case of any emergency, to relay traffic within this repeaters coverage area and to stimulate interest in ham radio. Should this repeater fail the net will move to 147.345.  We invite all amateurs to check in.

Stations with Formal NTS traffic please call (Your Call) and list your traffic for the net. Note: Wait about 1 minute or so.

Stations with Informal traffic or Announcements please call (Your Call) and list your traffic or announcements for the net. Note: Wait about 1 minute or so.

Your net control station (Your Call) will now call for stations to check in alphabetically.  In addition to your call give your name and QTH for the log.  This is done using the first letter of the suffix of your call or the first letter after the number of your call. **Example: Use your call and group if you wish.

A - G  Alpha -             Golf

Note: Acknowledge each station or group

H - N  Hotel - November

of stations as they check in before moving on

O - T  Oscar - Tango

to the next group. After all stations, A - Z have

U - Z  Uniform - Zulu

checked in, ask for additional stations before

going onto comments or announcements.

**After Alphabetic Roll Call – Move on to announcements **

Are there any other announcements for the net, please call (Your Call).

Are there any late check-ins for the net, please call (Your Call)?

We’ll now move to the comments portion of our net.  **Comments – call stations that checked in but did not check out – after 3 or 4 call for late check-ins again, make sure you ask if you have missed anyone who would like to make a comment. **

**Call Net Manager and give the net report total check ins, announcements, formal traffic and informal traffic  (This will be a formal so count it as one.) Also make sure you count yourself as a check in. Then you can close with the following:**

I thank each one for checking into the SARC net tonight and look forward to seeing each of you on Monday and Friday on 146.880 at 8:30 pm. This is (Your Call) closing the net at the time of (Your Local Time) and returning the repeater to normal use thru W4NYR. Good Evening!!!!
